A study of art and architecture of the geographic region of the United States, including Native American cultures and spanning the colonial period to the present day. Through the lens of a series of challenges that include commemoration, beauty, adversity, new technology, identity, design, nature, and modernism, students will formulate an answer to the question - what is ‘American’ about American art?
