A study of Christian theology from the fourteenth century to the present. Special emphasis is placed on late medieval theology, the Protestant and Catholic Reformations, Protestant scholasticism, the rise of biblical criticism, nineteenth-century Liberal theology, twentieth-century Neo-orthodoxy, the Vatican Councils, and current theological trends. While it is not a prerequisite, students are strongly encouraged to take THL 213 first.
